A hundred and forty years ago, the wirework industry was fashioning everything from tableware to large pieces of furniture. Few Victorian Wirework pieces have survived. By the 1930's, the manufacture of wirework had almost disappeared, and today there are no more than a handful of skilled makers scattered around the globe. Each piece has been designed and constructed with consummate care and imagination, tempered by tradition. Our products are manufactured from cold formed mild steel main frames which are hot dipped galvanised, then using original hand crafted skills, the final heavily galvanised wire is applied to the frame. To emulate the best qualities of original wirework, we then treat the surface with chemicals forming the antique finish. Our products are aimed at the top end of the highly specialised home and international market. This is expanding due to a growing interest in high quality crafted items for the garden, conservatory and interior. With our extensive experience in Garden Patio Furniture: Victorian Wirework and with a wealth of talent at our fingertips, we can reproduce original pieces or design from your ideas, creating antiques for the future. We offer an eclectic collection of vintage and new, English and French Garden Patio Furniture: Victorian Wirework. Our vintage collection includes French produce baskets, egg collecting baskets, glass carriers, urn planters, wirework hanging baskets, wirework wastepaper baskets and decorative baskets of varying shapes and sizes. Wirework cardholders, cream painted wirework hooks and glass and wirework hanging wind lights for the garden make up our new range. Wirework offers an unusual alternative for displaying and storing all sorts of things around the home. Fruit, vegetables and eggs look wonderful displayed in the many intricate baskets available. Why not use a Garden Patio Furniture: Victorian Wirework cooling rack to cool your home baked cakes! Glasses make a decorative statement when displayed in our French wirework carriers, either in the kitchen or dining room. We find that using our larger wirework baskets to store magazines is a good way of keeping them together, as well as looking stylish. Wirework also works extremely well in the bathroom for storing and displaying towels and toiletries, or for a collection of decorative shells lovingly gathered on your family holiday! Our new wirework hooks provide the perfect storage solution for those elusive keys! They also work well in the kitchen for tea cloths, hand towels and oven gloves. In addition to displaying cards, notes, reminders, letters , photos and your children's "special" artwork on our versatile cardholders, we have found that using them to display and store jewellery and scarves creates a stylish alternative to "shoving them in the drawer"! Our hooks work well for this too! |
